This will be my first year at Severance Middle School.  I am very excited to be joining such a tremendous school and staff, and look forward to the start of the school year!

I have been in education for 10+ years working in various positions at both the Elementary and Secondary levels, including Behavior Intervention Specialist and Assistant Principal.  Most recently I was a middle school principal in Moorhead, MN before joining SMS.

When away from work you will find me with my wife, Kristine, who also works for Weld RE4, and our three kids, Finlan, Baylor, and Bristol.  We enjoy spending our time together, traveling when able, being outdoors, riding bikes, going for walks/hikes, and watching or participating in activities as much as we can.

I joined the Severance Middle School team in 2014 and am excited to start another year as a Hawk!  As the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, I support day-to-day discipline and all aspects of middle school sports at SMS. Prior to this, I taught 7th grade Advanced and Regular Language Arts and facilitated the language arts intervention classes.

I grew up in Monument, Colorado and graduated from Lewis-Palmer High School.  After high school, I attended Colorado State University and studied Journalism.  I later went back to school and received a bachelors in Elementary Education with a Literacy Emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado.  Before joining this great team at SMS, I taught 4th grade in Greeley, Colorado. I completed my masters in Educational Leadership and obtained my principal license from the University of Northern Colorado in the summer of 2016.

I love spending my free time with my husband and 3 kids.  We live in Windsor and spend much of our time at my kids football, baseball, lacrosse, and dance. When we aren't at my kids sporting events, I love to cook, travel, and spend my summer days at the pool or the lake.

I am excited to jump in as the Dean of Students for the rest of the school year. Administration is an ultimate goal of mine and I am excited to start that journey at Severance Middle School. I look forward to building relationships with the staff, students, and families of SMS!

This is my 6th year working within the public education system in a variety of roles from Behavior Intervention, Engagement Specialist, and Social Worker. Most recently, I have been serving as the District Social Worker for Weld Re-4 School District.

I received my bachelors in Sociology from South Dakota State University and Masters in Social Worker from the University of North Dakota. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I grew up in South Dakota and have lived in Colorado since 2016. I have been serving in the military for the last 13 years. All of my ambitions and goals are possible because I have a beautiful supportive family that consists of my spouse and our 2 young children. We love our time outdoors! We enjoy exploring the beautiful trails throughout Colorado, camping throughout all of the Midwest, and of course our nightly summer bike rides. We most recently have explored the sport of skiing, but have not found much success....or coordination.

Ms. Donahoo joined the Windsor School District in 2005. She spent four glorious years at Windsor Middle School as a School Counselor and Coach.  She is currently the School Counselor at Severance Middle School, as well as coaches Volleyball this year.

Ann Donahoo grew up in Cortez, Colorado near the four corners area, where her grandmother and parents still reside.  After graduating High School from Montezuma Cortez High School, she went to Fort Lewis College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.  After completing her degree she moved to New York and truly enjoyed exploring the East Coast.  In 2001 she moved to Denver and decided to pursue a degree in counseling.  Once in Denver, she began attendance at the University of Northern Colorado (Denver Campus).  In 2005, she received a Masters degree in both School Counseling and Community Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.  In 2017 she earned a master's degree in educational leadership.

In her free time, she enjoys playing sports, especially volleyball and tennis.  Ann spends the majority of her free time with friends and traveling to new places. She really enjoys reading (Twilight series and the Hunger Games series), music, concerts, and movies.

Ms. Heather Dwelle | Counselor

Mrs. Dwelle is passionate about helping students to be their “personal best” and ensuring that students feel a sense of safety and belonging at school as they navigate their middle school years. This will be her 12th year as a middle school counselor. Mrs. Dwelle has previously worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer and team leader, a special education paraprofessional, a substitute teacher, a counselor in a residential setting, a school counselor in Thompson School District and as a mental health therapist in community mental health centers. She possesses a bachelor of science degree in Natural Resource Management and a masters’ degree in school counseling. She is a licensed professional school counselor and a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. Although she is a native of New Jersey, she has lived in Colorado for 20 years. Sadly, her Jersey accent is gone, but she can still rattle off a long list of famous people from New Jersey. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her dogs, and friends and family. She enjoys yoga, traveling, gardening, walking her dogs (and just watching her dogs), cooking, reading, hiking, cross-country skiing, knitting, and dogs. She might love dogs as much as she loves children. She sometimes chews gum much too loudly, rarely wears white even if it is before Labor Day because she is guaranteed to stain white clothing, and is willing to drive far to find good pizza. This is Mrs. Dwelle's 3rd year as a Hawk.
