Welcome to Severance Middle School

Our mission is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe and supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society. We are “Committed to Excellence,” and we work hard to make this site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students, and other members of the community. Our goal and responsibility is to help each student develop an enthusiasm for learning, a respect for self and others, and the skills to become a creative independent thinker and problem solver. GO HAWKS!

Mrs. Andrea Rolf | Principal

I am proud to be a part of the Severance Middle School community, having joined the team in 2014. I am excited to start another year as a Hawk! My career has been rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to succeed, and I am passionate about creating an environment where all learners feel supported, challenged, and valued. Before transitioning into administration, I taught 7th-grade advanced and regular Language Arts and facilitated Language Arts intervention classes. My journey began as a 4th-grade teacher in Greeley, where I cultivated my commitment to empowering students to reach their full potential.

My family and I are fortunate to live in this vibrant community, and I am especially proud to have raised three children here. I am grateful they received such an exceptional K-12 education in this wonderful district. My oldest lives on the western slope, and my two youngest kids currently attend Oklahoma State University. Outside of work, my husband and I spend much of our time traveling to see our kids, cooking, and enjoying my summer days at the lake or pool.

Mr. Kintz | Assistant Principal

It is with great pleasure to be in my third year serving as the assistant principal here at Severance Middles School. I have worked in education for over 2 decades with 1 decade teaching physical education/ heath and another decade having the opportunity to be a school administrator all at the middle school level. I take great joy in being able to serve and grow in my own community and cherish every opportunity to make our students and staff better versions of themselves. I look forward to another great year of working with the hawk students, parents and staff and continuing the path to Engage, Educate and Empower. Go Hawks!

Mr. Dudley | Assistant Principal / Athletic Director

I am excited to be a part of the Hawk team and serving the students, staff, and community here at SMS. I have worked in education for the past 20+ years in various capacities in middle, high, public, private, and charter schools. Instructionally, I've taught Math, Science, and Technology classes. I've coached basketball, football, soccer, track, cross country, tennis, and golf. Administratively, I've been a department chair, dean, assistant principal, and athletic director. I have a passion for helping students, middle schoolers especially, to build self confidence/esteem, be curious about their world but not being judgmental, be positive/kind/selfless, and to safely navigate the tumultuous waters that come at this age. When I am not working, I enjoy empty nesting with my wife, visiting with our grandkids, playing basketball, riding motorcycles, hiking, camping, and just about any outdoor activity.
