Welcome to Severance Middle School

Our mission is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe and supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society. We are “Committed to Excellence,” and we work hard to make this site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students, and other members of the community. Our goal and responsibility is to help each student develop an enthusiasm for learning, a respect for self and others, and the skills to become a creative independent thinker and problem solver. GO HAWKS!

Mrs. Andrea Rolf | Principal

I joined the Severance Middle School team in 2014 and am excited to start another year as a Hawk! I have been in education for 10+ years and have served in many capacities. Before joining the administration team, I taught 7th-grade advanced and regular Language Arts and facilitated the Language Arts intervention classes. Prior to this, I was a 4th-grade teacher in Greeley.

When away from work, my husband and I spend much of our time watching our kids sporting events: college baseball, football, lacrosse, and dance. I enjoy spending my summer days at the pool or the lake, cooking, and traveling.

Mr. Kintz | Assistant Principal

It is with great pleasure to be in my third year serving as the assistant principal here at Severance Middles School. I have worked in education for over 2 decades with 1 decade teaching physical education/ heath and another decade having the opportunity to be a school administrator all at the middle school level. I take great joy in being able to serve and grow in my own community and cherish every opportunity to make our students and staff better versions of themselves. I look forward to another great year of working with the hawk students, parents and staff and continuing the path to Engage, Educate and Empower. Go Hawks!

Mr. Dudley | Assistant Principal / Athletic Director

I am excited to be a part of the Hawk team and serving the students, staff, and community here at SMS. I have worked in education for the past 20+ years in various capacities in middle, high, public, private, and charter schools. Instructionally, I've taught Math, Science, and Technology classes. I've coached basketball, football, soccer, track, cross country, tennis, and golf. Administratively, I've been a department chair, dean, assistant principal, and athletic director. I have a passion for helping students, middle schoolers especially, to build self confidence/esteem, be curious about their world but not being judgmental, be positive/kind/selfless, and to safely navigate the tumultuous waters that come at this age. When I am not working, I enjoy empty nesting with my wife, visiting with our grandkids, playing basketball, riding motorcycles, hiking, camping, and just about any outdoor activity.
